Turn the heat on!
At a normal temperature bitumen is solid, it has to be heated above 100°C to become fluid. That means that the product needs to be heated inside the tank or box, in order to unload or process the bitumen. There are several heating options that can be installed inside a tank. Please find below several heating options. Our specialist will gladly advise you which system is the best fit for your requirements.
A used tank container with a stainless steel barrel is used as basis for the rebuild bitumen tank container. Our rebuild bitumen tanks can be used for the transport and storage of different types of bitumen, other fuels and emulsions.
Specifications:
The unique design of the Bitubox makes it a very safe and highly cost-effective way to transport or store high volumesof bitumen. Since the box is modified out of a standard 20ft container, the Bitubox is very suitable for intermodal transport per ship, train and truck. The fork lift pockets make it very easy and safe to handle the box.
Specifications
Flame tubes as heating system is a perfect way to heat the bitumen. When these pipes are installed, multiple test will done to ensure the complete integrity of the system. The flame tube system is certified by Lloyds Register and are compatible with IMO/ADR/RID/USDOT regulations. The IMO2 / T3 / L2.65BN codes will be applicable. New sleeves will be put in the pipes to prevent ware and tare of the original pipes.
A thermal oil tank has a closed circuit of pipes in the bottom of the tank, where the heated thermal oil flows through. The pipes give off heat through conduction and convection, heating the bitumen or emulsion that is inside the tank.
Specifications:
The Trans Heat SFM cable as electrical heating solution to maintain a tank container to 180 °C - 210 °C.We use a low power density on the cable. This has the advantage that the heat is very well distributed on the surface, preventing overheating of the product. The tank container will be covered for 80% with Trans Heat cable, including the heads.
Specifications:
Meeberg can offer ISO Tanks with electrically powered immersion heaters. These electric heaters can be added to practically every tank, and can reach / maintain high temperatures. These heaters can even be used to keep bitumen at discharge temperature ( 160-200 degrees Celsius).
